Guard Card
Start your security career!
The Powers to Arrest (PTA) & Appropriate Use of Force course is required prior to becoming a licensed security guard.
Must be 18 years of age and pass a background check.
Guard w/ Firearm
Increase your skills, increase your opportunities.
This course is for new and current security guards that want to carry an exposed firearm while on duty.
Must meet Guard Card requirements and be eligible to posses a firearm.
Additional Training
Newly licensed guards are required to obtain an additional 32-hours of training in the first thirty-day and six-months after being licensed.
- 16 hours of “Mandatory” training.
- 16 hours of “Elective” training.
Firearms ReQualificaiton
Keep your exposed firearms permit current.
Armed Guards must complete an additional 2-hours classroom refresher & a 50-round qualification per caliber twice a year.

We are licensed Firearms Instructors and Firearms Training Facility through the Bureau of Security & Investigated Services, with years of instructional experience.
Our instructors also meet the new requirements from the Department of Justice to be CCW Program Certified Instructors.
Our instructor experience comes from years of training private security guards in the use of firearms.
We are committed to providing you the same level of care and attention to your training, so that you can confidently and effectively defend yourself and loved ones.
Day One: Classroom
Our first day will be spent in the classroom going over:
1) Legal requirements of storing, transporting, carrying and using a firearm.
2) Firearm safety, familiarity, operation, maintenance and care.
3) Written Exam
Day Two: Range Training
Our Second day will be spent at the range, where we will go over:
1) The Draw from Concealment
2) Shooting Fundamentals
3) Firearms Manipulation & Handling
4) *Cover & Concealment
5) *Positional and Moving & Shooting
6) Shooting Qualification
We are most excited to provide the every-day-citizen the same level of firearms training we do to working professionals.
We want to provide you with real-life scenario training outside the confines of a static indoor range. That is why we are partnering with local outdoor-ranges or training-facilities that would allow us to put students in different positions and scenarios they might find themselves in in their everyday life.
Atlas Defense Group is currently seeking approval from the San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside County Sheriffs Department to be an authorized training provider.
